Hyundai IONIQ 5

The Hyundai IONIQ 5 is an electric crossover SUV that uses the same 84 kWh battery in every trim. Its Canadian lineup runs from the Preferred Long Range RWD through the Preferred, Trend and Ultimate AWD trims to the N.

Powertrain and Performance of the Hyundai IONIQ 5:

• Output ranges from 168 kW to 478 kW, the top figure being the N’s with N Grin Boost engaged.
• The RWD and AWD trims reach 100 km/h from rest in 5.3 to 7.5 seconds, and the N does it in 3.4 seconds with N Grin Boost engaged (3.5 seconds without).
• Top speed is 185 km/h on the RWD and AWD trims and an electronically limited 260 km/h on the N.
• With a braked trailer, the RWD and AWD trims can tow up to 1,224 kg, while Hyundai publishes no tow rating for the N.
• Every trim except the N has a Snow drive mode.

• The dash carries two side-by-side screens, a driver display and an infotainment screen.
• Apple CarPlay and Android Auto work wirelessly.
• Adaptive cruise control works together with lane centring, and a 360-degree camera view is also offered.
• Vehicle-to-load lets the car power external devices through an adapter.
• On the AWD trims, the cargo area measures 745 L, or 1,655 L once the rear seats are folded; for the N, the figures are 740 L and 1,680 L.
